Colour correction - on a budget!

Ever woken up and looked in the mirror and seen red marks on your face, dark lines under your eyes, or just have generally dull looking skin and your normal make up just doesn't seem to cover it up?

Well no need to spend a load of money on several different colour correcters for all of these problems!
I have the answer!
Today I bought a colour corrector pallet for only £4!
It's from MUA (makeup academy) from Superdrug.

The pallet colours explained:
Green neutralises red tones, so perfect to cover any blemishes and blotchiness.
Purple brightens up dull looking colours.
Peach/tan neutralises dark lines.
Yellow neutralises purple/blue colours.

The science behind this is actually quite simple and can be seen by looking at any standard colour wheel. The colours directly opposite the colour you want to neutralise is the colour you need to use!

For £4 this is a bargain! You would then apply concealer on top of the colour correction to match your skin tone perfectly!
If you don't generally need all of the colours then you can also buy the colours separately for £2 each!

I have done a basic, quick example just to briefly show how much difference colour correction can make:
Before: I had red blotches all over my face mainly on the forehead, I applied the green colour corrector to these places.
I also had dark circles under my eyes so I used the peach/tan and yellow colour to cover these.
I then added a tiny bit of Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation in colour Ivory and have highlighted and contoured with Bourjois Paris Delice de Poudre duo.
After: the red blotchy patches are covered and the dark circles are reduced (my dark circles are absolutely awful and I was really happy with these results!)

Photos are unedited - as always!

Sally
